A report by CBS Sports on Monday said that the ACC may finally be trying to adjust their basketball schedule to address the fact that there are too many games against bad teams and it is ultimately hurting the overall product.
With the additions of Cal, SMU, and Stanford, the 20-game ACC schedule that has been in place since the inception of the ACC Network saw more games that would fall into quadrant sthree and four. Nine teams finished ranked 100 or worse in the final NET this past season, and that lack of schedule control likely contributed to the poor results for the conference in the NCAA as bad teams playing each other just hurts each others rankings.
