North Carolina junior defensive lineman Myles Murphy has been placed on the preseason watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Outland Trophy, announced Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America.
Murphy was a second team All-ACC selection as a sophomore in 2021. He started all 13 games on the defensive line and ranked second on the team with eight tackles for loss and four sacks.
The Greensboro, N.C., native had 38 total tackles, three pass breakups and a hurry last fall. Murphy registered a career-high six tackles and a half TFL in the Duke's Mayo Bowl.
