Morehead Planetarium helped astronauts reach the moon, is still on the cutting edge

Morehead Planetarium, located on UNC's McCorkle Place, was once a destination for astronauts preparing for missions. Over a span of 15 years from 1960 to 1975, 62 American astronauts were trained at the Morehead Planetarium, including the three members of the Apollo 11 mission: Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr. (Daily Tar Heel)
