Men's Golf First in Stroke Play at ACC Championships

Peter Fountain, the defending individual champion, tied for first and the University of North Carolina shot a school record and second-lowest 54-hole score in Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship history to secure the No. 1 seed in the semifinals Saturday at the Shark's Tooth Golf Club at Watersound Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.

Clemson's Jacob Bridgeman, whom Fountain tied with a birdie on the second to last hole in regulation at 13 under par, won the individual title with a birdie on the second playoff hole. Fountain became the first Tar Heel and seventh player in ACC history to win or tie for first place in multiple championships (the fifth to do in consecutive years).
