CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Drake Maye threw for 294 yards and five touchdowns in his first career start as the North Carolina football team opened the season with a 56-24 win over Florida A&M on Saturday night at Kenan Stadium.
The Tar Heels piled up 608 yards of total offense, including 314 on the ground, in a dominant performance.
Carolina improved to 1-0 to begin the 2022 season, while Florida A&M dropped to 0-1.
UNC improved to 85-43-4 all-time in season openers, including a 38-32 mark since the ACC was formed in 1953.
