GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second time this season, North Carolina junior forward Erin Matson has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week. The league announced the honor, the final one of the 2020 fall season, on Tuesday.
Syracuse freshman back Eefke van den Niewenhof earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Matson delivered a hat trick Friday as UNC beat visiting Wake Forest 5-0. Just 2:34 into the game, she scored on a penalty corner to give the Tar Heels a 1-0 lead and what proved to be the game-winner.
