Paramus, N.J. – University of North Carolina senior Dylan Menante won his round of 32 match with a birdie on the next-to-last hole and his round of 16 match with a birdie on the last hole Thursday to advance to Friday's quarterfinals in the 2022 United States Amateur at the Ridgewood Country Club.
The Carlsbad, Calif., native plays high school senior Nicholas Gross of Downingtown, Pa., in the first of Friday's four quarterfinals.
Menante defeated BYU's Carson Lundell 1 up in Thursday morning's round of 32. Lundell won two of the first four holes and led until Menante pulled all square on the 14th hole.
