Kelly And Skahan Selected On Day 1 Of MLS Draft

Chapel Hill -- North Carolina seniors Jeremy Kelly and Jack Skahan were selected on the first day of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. Kelly ws selected 9th overall by the Montreal Impact, but was acquired via trade by the Colorado Rapids, while Skahan was selected with the 27th pick by the San Jose Earthquakes. Kelly and Skahan are the 21st and 22nd players to sign MLS contracts under head coach Carlos Somoano since 2012 while Kelly becomes the 9th first-round pick under Somoano in those nine years.

Both Skahan and Kelly were key members of the 2016 & 2017 NCAA College Cup teams and also helped lead the Tar Heels to three consecutive ACC Coastal Division titles.
