Hitt, Gerard Tie Career Low Rounds

University of North Carolina junior Austin Hitt and sophomore Ryan Gerard tied their collegiate best rounds with a 66 and 67, respectively, to lead the Tar Heels to fourth place after 36 holes Monday at the Old Town Collegiate hosted by Wake Forest at the Old Town Club.

The Demon Deacons lead the tournament at 23 under par. Louisville is second at -19, Yale is third at -10, UNC is fourth at -8 and Notre Dame is fifth at 7 under.

Hitt (Longwood, Fla.) is tied for sixth place at 5-under-135 after shooting 69 and 66 in Monday's two rounds.
