CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina hosted its annual spring tournament on Saturday, April 1, taking on Duke, Virginia Tech and UNCG in a set of exhibition matches. Held at the Dean E. Smith Center, on the home court of the 2017 National Champion Men’s Basketball team, Carolina came out on top of all three matches, including winning nine straight sets.
The Tar Heels opened the day against rival Duke. The Blue Devils took the first set, 27-25, before UNC stormed back to win three straight, 25-23, 25-17, 27-25. UNC kept its momentum through the next two matches, sweeping Virginia Tech (25-21, 25-13, 25-21) followed by UNCG (25-19, 25-15, 25-19).
