CHAPEL HILL, N.C.— Omarion Hampton rushed for a career-high 234 yards and three touchdowns and No. 17 North Carolina piled up 319 total rushing yards, outlasting Appalachian State, 40-34, in two overtimes on a damp Saturday evening in Kenan Stadium.
