Gold Medalist, All-American, Swimming Hall of Famer Thompson Mann Passes Away

An Olympic gold medalist, world record holder, and one of the greatest men's swimmers ever to represent the University of North Carolina, Thompson Mann died April 4 at age 76. A Virginia native who was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1984, Mann was the first man to break the one-minute mark in the 100-meter backstroke. (GoHeels.com)
