University of North Carolina men's golfers Ryan Gerard won a U.S. Amateur Qualifier, Dougie Ergood finished second in the New Jersey Amateur and David Ford went 4-0 in matches at the AJGA Wyndham Cup that concluded today.
Gerard shot a 5-under-par 67 to win medalist honors at the U.S. Amateur Qualifier in Hobe Sound, Fla., to secure an automatic berth in the upcoming 2021 U.S. Amateur.
Gerard, a rising fifth-year senior, earned one of two spots in the Amateur in the 55-player field at the Hobe Sound Country Club.
The Raleigh native rebounded from a quadruple bogey 8 Thursday on the second hole of the 36-hole tournament.
