BALTIMORE, MD. – Joe Seivold, one of the all-time great lacrosse players in University of North Carolina history, was elected to the U.S. Lacrosse National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, as announced by the organization Thursday.

A four-time All-America midfielder for the Tar Heels from 1983-87, Seivold becomes the second member of his family in the Hall of Fame, joining his namesake father, Joseph, who was inducted in 1979. Seivold was previously inducted into the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame on Jan. 28, 2006. His eldest son, Johnny, a four-year letterman as a midfielder at UNC from 2001-05, introduced him.
