Maxwell Ford, David Ford and Austin Greaser won their respective matches on Wednesday to send the trio of University of North Carolina men's golfers to the round of 32 in the 2023 United States Amateur at Cherry Hills Golf Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo.
Caleb Surratt, a first-team All-America from Tennessee, ended Dylan Menante's tournament with a 6&5 victory.
Maxwell Ford tied for fourth in the 312-player field in stroke play and continued his strong play with a 4&3 win over Texas's Brian Stark. Stark won the first two holes, but Ford evened the match after five and won four consecutive holes to take a 3-up lead after the 12th hole.
