GREENSBORO, N.C. – Five UNC fencers have been selected for All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic honors, as announced Thursday by the ACC. Senior Matthew Garrelick, juniors Wei Chee Chen and Jackie Litynski, and freshmen Daniel Mogilevsky and Beni Rabinowitz earned the recognition, which is based on academic and athletic performance.
Chen, Litynski and Rabinowitz all represented UNC at the 2019 NCAA Championships as the Tar Heels had their largest group since 2013 at the championships.
Chen is from Birmingham, Ala., and is majoring in business administration. She placed 9th in women's foil at both ACC Championships and NCAA Regionals, and 23rd at NCAA Championships.
