Mason Elmore of Charlotte, N.C., and Ryan Gerard of Raleigh, N.C., signed National Letters of Intent to attend the University of North Carolina and play men’s golf, Tar Heel head coach Andrew Sapp announced.
Elmore attends Ardrey Kell High School. Gerard attends Ravenscroft High School.
“We’re thrilled to add Ryan and Mason to our team,” says Sapp, “and are fortunate to sign two excellent players from our home state to represent the Tar Heels both in the classroom and on the golf course.”
Elmore won the 2015 Donald Ross Junior Championship in Pinehurst. He also took medalist honors at the 2016 Golfweek Junior Tour at the University of Georgia, was second at the 2015 Webb Simpson Challenge in Southern Pines and the 2016 AJGA IZOD Championship in Kannapolis.
