TEMPE, Arizona - Coming off its ITA National Team Indoor Championship victory on Monday, North Carolina's Sara Daavettila (UTR 11.58) was named the UTR ITA Division I Women's Player of the Week. The Tar Heel senior played the No. 2 position in singles where she handled three of her singles opponents in straight sets last weekend in Chicago.
Currently sixth in UNC women's tennis program history with 121 career singles victories, Daavettila owns a 121-33 record, the seventh best winning percentage (78.57) at Carolina.
En route to the championship match, Daavettila defeated NC State's Anna Rogers (UTR: 11.
