North Carolina forward Isabel Cox's bid for a game-winning hat trick was tipped over the cross bar by Florida State goalkeeper Cristina Roque with 1:12 to play in the second overtime as the teams played to a 2-2 draw Thursday evening at Dorrance Field.
It was Carolina's sixth overtime game of the season, while the Seminoles went to extra minutes for the first time this season.
The Tar Heels are 10-2-3, 3-2-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while the top-ranked Seminoles are 14-0-1, 7-0-1. Seventh-ranked UNC is 3-0-3 in six overtime matches this season.
