For the second straight year, the Chapel Hill Regional will host an SEC team as its #2 seed. Last year, that team was an established college baseball powerhouse, one of the hottest teams in the country, and the reigning national champions in LSU. This year’s SEC invitee is Oklahoma, which just played its first year in the conference after moving from the Big 12. They do have a rich history in college baseball, with two national championships and a 2nd-place finish just three years ago, but they aren’t what a college baseball fan thinks of as a classic SEC power.
