CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Led by 14 kills from Mabrey Shaffmaster, the Carolina volleyball team earned a dominant straight-set road victory on Sunday afternoon in Memorial Gymnasium to earn the team's 20th win of the season.
Amanda Phegley hit a team-best .500 with seven kills, while Kaya Merkler added another eight on .400 hitting.
The Tar Heels (19-7, 8-7 ACC) out-hit the Cavaliers .267 to .107, with Virginia committing nine service errors.
"I'm very proud of the team today," head coach Joe Sagula said.
