MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Jamie Cherry and Stephanie Watts each scored 17 points to lead North Carolina to a 69-62 victory over Southern Miss Sunday afternoon from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Destinee Walker also chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds for North Carolina (8-5), who have won three of its last four games heading into the holiday break.
On her way to 17 points, Watts knocked down five 3-pointers, while Cherry was 10-of-11 from the free throw line. Xylina McDaniel grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
