Carolina Softball Tops UCF in Extra Innings, Falls to Providence

LONGWOOD, Fla. – North Carolina wrapped up the UCF Friends of Jaclyn Tournament with a 2-0 extra-inning win over UCF after falling to Providence, 2-1, earlier in the day at Soldiers Creek Park. Following Sunday's split outcome, the Tar Heels improve to 3-1 while the Friars and Golden Knights sit at 1-4 and 3-2, respectively.

GAME ONE – vs. Providence: L, 2-1

Despite Katie Grace Olinger's five strikeouts in her first complete game, the Tar Heels could not overcome the Friars' late sacrifice fly for the 2-1 win.

Leah Murray and Sierra Parkinson each logged two hits against Providence with seniors Taylor Wike and Katelyn Shifflett had one apiece.
