CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina welcomes Illinois to Chapel Hill this weekend for a non-conference battle between Power 5 programs. The game is set to kick off at noon from Kenan Stadium and will be televised by ESPN2.
This is Carolina’s first regular season game against a Big Ten opponent since facing Wisconsin at Kenan Stadium in 2005. UNC lost to Big Ten foe Rutgers (member since 2014) in last year’s Quick Lane Bowl. It is just the third meeting with Illinois and the first since 1987.
Carolina is coming off a 53-14 victory over FCS opponent North Carolina A&T.
