ORLANDO - Stanford once again proved to be too much for North Carolina in the NCAA Women's Tennis Team Championship. This time it came in the Final Four as the No. 3 seeded Cardinal prevailed by a 4-2 margin from the USTA National Campus.
North Carolina finishes 2019 with a 33-2 record, the best in program history. The Tar Heels won their fourth-straight ACC Championship and advanced to the finals of the ITA National Indoor Team Championship back in February.
Stanford (27-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead and it appeared would cruise into the finals, but grit and determination by the Tar Heels pushed the match well past three hours in length.
