CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Tar Heel fans had an additional reason to applaud during the UNC men's basketball win over NC State on Tuesday night at the Dean E. Smith Center. This year's Athletic Director's Scholar-Athletes and ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship and Award winners were recognized on the court at halftime of the 85-79 Tar Heel victory.
The AD's Scholar-Athlete Award goes annually to a junior or senior on each team who has displayed academic excellence while representing North Carolina in a varsity sport.
The ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan honorees are seniors who have excelled academically and athletically at UNC and have received either scholarship funds or honorary awards.
