Ryan Burnett and Austin Greaser both shot under par to lead the University of North Carolina men's golf team to third place after round one Monday at The Prestige, a 24-team tournament on the Greg Norman Course at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.
Burnett, a junior from Lafayette, Calif., shot a 2-under-par 69, one stroke better than Greaser, a sophomore from Vandalia, Ohio.
Burnett, playing in his first event of the season, is tied for seventh after opening his round with a bogey on the second hole, then making birdies at the 12th, 13th and 16th holes and pars on the other 14.
