CLEMSON, S.C. – Blake Wright hit two home runs and drove in five, Billy Amick collected four hits, and No. 7 Clemson defeated North Carolina 14-7 in the opening game of a three-game ACC series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium Thursday.
Caden Grice had a two-run homer, Amick hit a solo shot and drove in three, and junior Nick Clayton (7-0) tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts to earn the win.
Junior Max Carlson (4-2) took the loss, lasting just 3 2/3 innings. He gave six runs on 10 hits with a pair of walks and strikeouts.
