CHAPEL HILL—University of North Carolina junior forward announced on Wednesday he will be returning to Carolina to play his senior season in 2022-23, forgoing a professional playing career for the time being.
Bacot announced his intentions in a video:
Bacot led the Tar Heels to the 2022 NCAA championship game, averaging 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds and tying the NCAA record with 31 doubles on the season. He shattered the school record for rebounds in a season, grabbing 511 (almost 100 more than the previous record of 416).
He earned Academic All-ACC team honors on Tuesday.
