GREENSBORO, N.C. – Helping the Tar Heels to a pair of ACC wins, Parker Austin was named the ACC Freshman of the Week as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office. This is the Tar Heels' first newcomer honor since 2016.
Against NC State and Virginia Tech, Austin posted two double-digit kill matches, totaling 25 throughout the week. The freshman averaged 2.78 kills per set with five in the third set at NC State and four in three of nine sets.
