Angels pitcher Matt Harvey explains why he didn’t disclose latest injury: ‘It’s me being stubborn’

When he was pitching for the Mets, Matt Harvey toiled at his craft with numbness in his right hand for months. He finally told his manager his arm was “dead” in July 2016. Diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome, Harvey had surgery to remove a rib. Perhaps it’s no surprise Harvey didn’t tell reporters he felt something in his upper back after his last start.
