GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina standouts Brian Anderson and Michael Carter have been recognized as Atlantic Coast Conference Football Players of the Week after their standout performances in last weekend's 56-45 win over Virginia Tech.
Carolina's starting center, Anderson earns his first career conference player of the week award, while Carter earns his second nod as the league's top back. His first citation came during his sophomore campaign when he rushed for a then career-high 165 yards against the Hokies.
Carter, who steamrolled his previous career best with 214 rushing yards this past Saturday, also earned a spot on the Paul Horning Award Honor Roll and the Pro Football Focus (PFF) National Team of the Week on Monday.
