North Carolina's 3 Most Likely Bowl Opponents

North Carolina became bowl eligible with a win over rival Duke, sending them back to the postseason. The Tar Heels knocked off Cincinnati in the Belk Bowl a season ago – who will UNC be playing this year?

Houston

The Cougars seem locked in to staying in Texas to play their bowl game, and the most obvious choice for them is in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth. UNC may end up here as one of the ACC's 6-6 teams, creating an exciting matchup. While the two schools may not draw a lot of outside fan interest, both teams sport high-powered offense that would make the game exciting.

Utah

Utah will be headed to the Sun Bowl, another lower-tier bowl game the Tar Heels may end up in. The Utes have one of the nation's best defenses, and would be a fun matchup against UNC's up-tempo offense. Playing in El Paso may not be ideal, but playing another major conference team would be a major plus for the Heels.

UCF

The Knights clinched a share of the American title with a last second victory over ECU, and are one of the better teams North Carolina might find themselves up against. UCF won the Fiesta Bowl last year and is emerging in the college football world, so this isn't a matchup Tar Heel fans would take lightly.
