Last year, redshirt freshman NC State running back Hollywood Smothers emerged as an All-ACC caliber player. He finished the year with 571 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He also recorded 19 receptions for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In his first year on the field, Smothers’ average of 6.4 yards per carry ranks 6th in NC State history for a single season.
