Redshirt Sophomore Quarterback Sam Hartman started the first 9 games of his True Freshman season before breaking his leg, which led to him missing the final 4 games of the season. In his first year, Hartman had 16 touchdowns compared to 8 interceptions. After beating out Jamie Newman as a True Freshman, Newman beat out Hartman in 2019 for the starting job. Since Hartman only played in 4 games last year, it was able to count as a redshirt season.
