UNC-Wilmington lost head coach Kevin Keatts this offseason and now its leading scorer is out the door as well. Shooting guard C.J. Bryce has gotten his release from UNCW, as Phenom Hoop Report first, er, reported, and will be a coveted free agent this late in the recruiting cycle.
Bryce averaged 17.4 points for Keatts at UNCW this past season. He is an undergraduate transfer—he’ll sit this year, then have two years remaining. NC State is interested in several undergrad transfer guards, in case you haven’t noticed. These are players that can be part of a foundation rather than just a one-year stopgap.
