UNC has officially fired head coach Larry Fedora after seven seasons. Credit where credit is due, the program was not in great shape in the wake of the sanctions levied as Butch Davis exited the job. The team tied for first in the Coastal (cough) in his first year in 2012. He then performed a notable turnaround when the team went undefeated in the ACC regular season in 2015 (cough, Coastal, cough). Although his teams appeared in four consecutive bowl games, they only won the first. Since that peak, all trends were pointing in the wrong direction.
