Former Texas offensive coordinator Tim Beck is going to be NC State’s next offensive coordinator, according to a Football Scoop report. Beck was demoted recently at Texas but was kept on staff; the Longhorns play in the Alamo Bowl on Tuesday, so an official announcement wouldn’t come before that game ends.
Beck has extensive coaching experience at the power-conference level and has served as the offensive coordinator at Nebraska, Ohio State, and Texas. He was the offensive coordinator for the Longhorns for the last three seasons.
Texas shuffled its staff after finishing 7-5, but the disappointing record wasn’t exactly the offense’s fault: the Longhorns rank 14th in total offense and 31st in yards per play this season.
