The ACC/Big Ten Challenge will soon be no more. The 2022-23 season will mark the last year of the challenge that began back in 1999 for Men’s Basketball, and 2007 for Women’s Basketball.
The reason the Challenge is ending, is because it is being replaced with another.
Beginning in 2023-24, a new Challenge will begin between the ACC and the SEC, and all of the games will be on the ESPN Network.
As a result of this agreement, the SEC will also be ending a Challenge with the Big 12, which began back in 2013-14.
With two more challenges remaining against the Big Ten, the ACC has won 12 in Men’s Basketball, while the Big Ten has won 8 (there have been 3 ties).
