Thayer Thomas to return to NC State football team for 2019 season

On the eve of training camp, Wolfpack fans are able to breathe a sigh of relief. Third-year sophomore wide receiver Thayer Thomas decided to delay his baseball career and return to the Wolfpack football team for the 2019 season, as reported by Joe Giglio.

Thomas, a two-sport athlete, was drafted in the 33rd (that’s a lot of rounds) round by the Boston Red Sox in the June 2019 MLB draft. He was offered a hefty signing bonus, but he decided to wait on playing minor league baseball and weigh his options. Ultimately, he and his family decided it would be best for him to keep his options open, continue his football development as well as stay on the NC State baseball team.
