Scott Wood spent several years playing in Spain after graduating from NC State, but last fall he landed a deal with Golden State that kept him stateside. He’s been playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the D-League, and he’s averaging almost 15 points per game while hitting better than 43% from three.
This is All-Star weekend for both the NBA and the D-League, which held its skills competitions on Saturday. Scotty Westside won the three-point competition, which is probably not a surprise to anyone who watched him play at NC State.
It’s great to see Wood thriving in the D-League and it would be awesome to see him eventually get to suit up for Golden State, but that franchise is so good and deeply talented right now, finding a spot is the difficult part.
