Yesterday former NC State quarterback Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers kept their playoff hopes alive, defeating the Jets 14-7.
Rivers connected with his forever target Antonio Gates for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter to give Los Angeles a 7-0 lead. Shortly after halftime, New York running back Bilal Powell got loose for a 67-yard touchdown run to tie the game. Then with 5 minutes left in the game, Chargers running back Melvin Gordon ran it in from 1-yard out to seal the deal.
Rivers was 22 of 40 for 292 yards with 1 touchdown.
