The Padres have traded former NC State Shortstop Brandon Butterworth to the Orioles.
San Diego drafted Butterworth in the 12th round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
In his first year in the MILB, Butterworth played for the Single-A Lake Elsinore Storm, hitting .219 in 24 games, with 8 stolen bases.
Butterworth stepped it up thus far in 2025, hitting .267, with 11 home runs, 7 triples, 17 doubles, 46 RBIs, 61 runs and 13 stolen bases in 89 game for the Single-A+ Fort Wayne TinCaps.
After transferring from Western Carolin prior to the 2024 season, Butterworth hit.
