NC State jumped to a 10-0 lead and cruised to a 13-1 win over UNC-Asheville Tuesday night at the Doak at Dail, winning its second straight to move to two games over .500 overall and 8-8 at home.
In the bottom of the first, Stephen Pitarra walked on four pitches in an ominous start for the Bulldogs and starter Chris Boyles. Will Wilson followed with a single, and Josh McLain and Brad Debo followed with back-to-back RBI hits. An RBI groundout from Joe Dunand made it 3-0 after one.
Wilson doubled home Brock Deatherage, who had singled with one out, to make it 4-0 in the second.
