Incoming Freshman Nyheim Hines was just honored by the News & Observer with the Male Athlete of the Year Award. Everyone should read Tim Stevens’ article on Hines, but I will highlight a couple of things that stood out to me.
- Hines is smart. He finished with honors with a GPA of 3.93. You have to be smart to include AP statistics as one of your favorite classes.
- He wants to find a way to both play football and run track at NC State. He is a state champion and top-5 nationally in numerous events.
