NC State point guard Markell Johnson is facing felony assault charges for an incident that took place on October 8th in Cleveland, Ohio, his hometown.
He was summoned on December 5th, and was suspended indefinetly by NC State on December 16th.
Johnson, along with co-defendants, Michael Melton Jr., Johnnie Pullum, and DeMarious Green were indicted and jailed in Cuyahoga County on December 20th, gave DNA samples , and were released on $5,000 bond.
After pleading not guilty, John T. Paris, Johnson’s attorney, filed a motion for discovery on the 20th as well.
Discovery is the formal process of exchanging information between the parties about the witnesses and evidence to be presented at trial.
