NC State’s home-opener against Wake Forest will be played without fans in the stands

NC State’s first month of fall competition will be played without spectators. The school announced today that no fans will be allowed in the stands in September, which only affects one football game: the opener against Wake Forest. Advantage Wake Forest! (That’s a little attendance joke for the kids out there.)

“We understand this may be difficult news for Wolfpack Nation, but given the information available to us at the current time, we are making the responsible decision to begin our season without spectators,” said Corrigan.

You aren’t allowed to tailgate either; sorry, folks. This moratorium could extend deeper into the season, depending on how things evolve—as it says there in the release, no fans are allowed in the stands through at least September.
