After top-ranked Stanford lost to Colorado on Sunday, everybody else in the top five moved up. For NC State, that means a No. 2 ranking for the first time since 1990. Louisville ascended to No. 1, giving the ACC the top two teams in the country.
The Cardinals received 20 first-place votes, while NC State received five. UConn, South Carolina, and Stanford round out the new top five. The Wolfpack’s win over the Gamecocks remains the best resume win of any school in this group.
The Pack is due a shot at the Cardinals on Feb. 1, and if those two teams were still 1-2, that’d be pretty exciting!
