NC State’s 2019 football recruiting class isn’t finshed yet but the Wolfpack is already making progress in 2020. On Wednesday, State picked up a verbal commitment from consensus four-star wide receiver Porter Rooks.
Rooks’ offer sheet is extremely impressive, and among his final eight schools he listed Michigan, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Georgia. He is not only one of the best prospects in North Carolina, but one of the best in the country: he is ranked in the top 60 nationally. Dude is a big-time talent.
Rooks plays for Providence Day in Charlotte and is just the latest example of the recruiting success Dave Doeren’s staff has had in that part of the state.
