NC State announced Monday the addition of former Tennessee safety Stephen Griffin to the roster. Griffin is an undergraduate transfer, which means he will have to sit out the 2017 season, but after redshirting this year, he’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.
Griffin spent two seasons with the Volunteers, and mostly served as a reserve in the secondary. He played in 11 games as a sophomore in 2016 and recorded 13 tackles and two passes broken up.
The 6’2, 205-pounder was a three-star prospect out of high school and a top-30 player in the state of North Carolina.
